Zena is a miniature hinny. A hinny is the opposite of a mule, having a horse father and donkey mother. They exhibit characteristics that are more horse or pony-like than a mule with medium length ears and more of a pony face. They often have the tail and mane of a horse rather than the mane and tassel of a donkey.

Zena lived on a private farm and when she needed placement, she came to us as a companion to Clarissa, who is a whole other story! Zena proved to be quite feral and has been a challenge but she is now coming around beautifully. She enjoys coming up to the barn for grooming and scratches now. She has quite a personality and she sheds out to a beautiful liver chestnut color in the spring.
