Bring the kids and the camera for free family fun at The Mane Event, a morning of pony rides, face painting, exhibitions, and competitions. Sponsored by Tryon Riding and Hunt Club (TR&HC), The Mane Event will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, on the equestrian side of Tryon’s Harmon Field. The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run will be attending with pony rides! We will also have minis Flicka and Hannah in attendance for the public to pet and interact with.
At The Mane Event, families can enjoy pumpkin painting, hobby horse games, and a petting zoo. In addition, food and ice cream trucks will also be available. Beginning at noon, special performances include a magic show and an exhibition of freestyle dressage or ballet on horseback with 2 horses and riders moving gracefully through athleticism and communication. There is no admission charge, but TR&HC asks for a donation of canned food to be distributed to Thermal Belt Outreach and the Pop Up Pantry. Last year, more than 1,200 pounds of food were donated to local food pantries. We would love to have you come out for this family friendly event!
